KPK to probe SMP 56 swap deal

JAKARTA: The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has formed a team to investigate a corruption allegation in a land swap deal involving junior high school SMP 56 in Melawai, South Jakarta.

KPK members Edi Karim said on Thursday that the team was still collecting documents on the swap deal.

At least 50 alumni of SMP 56 and members of the public concerned about the closure of SMP 56 staged a demonstration at KPK earlier in the day.

They alleged there the land swap deal between the Ministry of Education and developer PT Tata Dirgantara involved corruption. -- JP
