KPK Leadership Meets KSP Head to Discuss Potential Corruption Imbalances in MBG Programme
The Head of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP), Dudung Abdurachman, received KPK Deputy Chairman Agus Joko Pramono at his office to discuss Presidential Regulation No. 54 of 2018 on the National Strategy for Preventing Corruption. The meeting highlighted potential discrepancies in the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme.
Dudung explained that the meeting focused on the implementation of Presidential Regulation No. 54 of 2018 on the National Strategy for Preventing Corruption. He noted that several institutions have been involved in executing the strategy, including Bappenas, KPK, the Ministry of Home Affairs, KSP, and the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform.
“So, I was visited by KPK leadership, the Deputy Chairman, Mr Agus. It’s related to the Presidential Regulation, Presidential Regulation No. 54 of 2018 on the National Strategy for Preventing Corruption. And those involved include Bappenas, KPK, the Home Affairs Minister, KSP, the PAN-RB Minister, and we are designing a proposal to include the Finance Minister and BPKP,” said Dudung at the Bina Graha building, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday (5/5/2026).
Dudung stressed that the MBG programme issue was one of the main concerns in the discussion. According to him, there are indications of discrepancies that need further investigation.
“We are taking this seriously; he happens to be from the prevention team. Meaning that what is currently booming is the MBG issue,” he continued.
Dudung stated that he would conduct direct inspections in the field together with inter-ministerial teams to ensure the accuracy of the received reports. If violations are found, Dudung affirmed that he would not hesitate to expose them to the public.
“Earlier, I discussed many things about the occurring discrepancies, and I will inspect them. Of course, this will be with teams from several ministries, and if we find out and it is truly proven, I will not hesitate to expose it directly,” he said.
Furthermore, Dudung mentioned that reports on the implementation of the anti-corruption prevention strategy are usually submitted to the President twice a year. However, he believes the President has a strong commitment to eradicating corruption, so reporting can be done at any time if necessary.
“And this Presidential Regulation usually reports to the President twice a year. I am confident with him, Mr President, with his enthusiasm to eradicate corruption, thieves, I am sure he will be concerned with things like this. Maybe not twice a year, even anytime, I will definitely report things that are very…, because this is public money, the people must know,” he said.
Dudung also emphasised the importance of transparency in budget management, especially since it involves public funds. The findings from the field will later be conveyed to the public to prevent misuse by certain parties.
“And I will convey what the findings are in the field later, so there is no utilisation that is only then utilised by individual groups. I have received many reports, but if I haven’t gone to the field, I don’t want to convey what the findings are. Later, wait, I will go to the field as soon as possible,” he said.
Meanwhile, Agus stated that in strengthening prevention, his side emphasised that the current main focus is to improve governance that still has several gaps. His side continues to review various aspects, especially systems that have so far been deemed not running optimally.
“Yes, in this prevention position. There are many things that can be sharpened from our governance; we try to review, we try to monitor, and then systems that have not been running well, we have given input,” he said.
Several improvement recommendations have been submitted to the Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN). Currently, the next steps depend on the follow-up of those recommendations to ensure a more effective and accountable system going forward.
“Recommendations have been given to the Head of BGN, and we are waiting for the follow-up,” said Agus.
