KPI seeks public input

JAKARTA: The Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI) is seeking input from the public ahead of talks with the government on broadcasting regulations.

Commission chairman Victor Menayang said on Monday KPI members would soon meet with government officials to discuss four regulations that would serve as the basis for broadcasting institutions, public broadcasting, community-run broadcasting, and private-run and subscribed broadcasting.

He said those regulations would be passed on Oct. 28, which is considered enough time for broadcasting stations to make adjustments. -- JP
