Kostrad chief visits border

ATAMBUA, East Nusa Tenggara: The Army Reserve Strategic
Command chief Lt. Gen. Ryamizard Ryacudu visited the border
between East Timor and East Nusa Tenggara on Thursday.

Ryamizard said his visit was to inspect the latest security
conditions between the two territories.

He further dismissed reports that his arrival was in response
to increased smuggling to East Timor, allegedly involving
Indonesian Military personnel.

Meanwhile, the chief of border security supervision command
Col. Irawan Koesnadi will hand over his post on Friday to his
successor Lt. Col. M. Chandra. (30)
