Korean Training Cruise due here

JAKARTA (JP): A South Korean naval ship is scheduled to arrive at Tanjung Priok port on Oct. 22 as part of a Korean Naval Academy training cruise.

South Korean diplomat Bong Hyup Chung said in a press release yesterday that Rear Admiral Seung-Yull Oh was commanding the ship.

The South Korean cadets plan to set up a public display on the logistical support ship CHEON-JI which carries a permanent defense industry exhibition, a cultural assets exhibition and a theater.

The cadets plan to tour cultural sites in Jakarta and meet representatives of the Indonesian Navy.

"They also plan to open their ships to the public from 10 a.m to 5 p.m. on Oct. 23, at the 2nd 214 harbor, Tanjung Priok," Bong said.

The cadets will also put on a Taekwondo demonstration, play in a military band and put on a traditional-music performance at Pasar Seni, Ancol, on Oct. 24. (sur)
