KONI gets another donation
JAKARTA (JP): The National Sports Council (KONI) received on Monday a Rp 225 million (US$30,000) donation in the form of analgesic ointment from PT Pfizer Indonesia Tbk. for athletes who would compete in the 15th National Games (PON) and 2000 Olympic Games.
"We want to celebrate the PON and Olympic Games by contributing 15,000 tubes of Bengay analgesic ointment worth Rp 225 million to Indonesian athletes through KONI," said Iqbal Bengali, president director of PT Pfizer Indonesia Tbk., on Monday.
Bengali said that it was the second time that his company made such a contribution. The first donation was given to East Timor refugees.
KONI chairman Wismoyo Arismunandar hailed the company's contribution to the council. "When receiving contributions from any parties, we don't see the cost but their concern to national sports development." (ivy)
