Komatsu gets ISO 14001

JAKARTA (JP): Publicly listed heavy-equipment manufacturer Komatsu Indonesia obtained on Friday an ISO 14001 certificate for its success in implementing environmentally friendly management standards.

Komatsu said that the ISO 14001 certificate was issued by independent accreditation agency SGS International.

In order to help protect the environment it had developed several programs, including the Komatsu Green Fund, and had joined several reforestation programs initiated by the Ministry of Forestry since 1992.

Komatsu became the 11th company within the Astra International business group to receive 14001 certification. (cst)
