Koi exhibition at Taman Mini

JAKARTA: An exhibition and competition involving koi, a type of fish that is considered to bring good luck, was held on Saturday at the Taman Mini Indonesia Indah park in East Jakarta.

One of the participants said she sold the fish at a price of Rp 2 million to Rp 10 million.

The most expensive fish were Japanese-bred.

Governor Sutiyoso, who opened the event, called for the Jakarta Koi Club to develop a local breed of the fish so that it could compete with imported ones, Antara reported.

About 200 koi lovers, including several Japanese, participated in the event.--JP
