Kite festival in Karawaci

TANGERANG (JP): A colorful kite festival will be held on Saturday and Sunday in front of the flower market on Jl. Gajah Mada in Lippo Karawaci, Tangerang.

As of Friday, 400 kite fliers had registered for the event.

Open to public, there are three different registration fees for the two-day event: Rp 30,000 per person which includes a kite and a T-shirt; Rp 20,000 which includes a kite; and Rp 10,000 for those who want to fly their own kites.

On Sunday, a kite drawing competition will be held for six and seven year olds, who will be charged Rp 5,000 registration each. Each child receives a kite.

Participants have to supply their own drawing materials.

Among kites to be flown at the festival are a train kite, a 1.6 by 1.3 meter hexagonal kite and a 1.5 by 2.4 meter kite in the shape of the Dynaplast tower symbol.

Another kite being flown is one with the Taman Pattaya housing complex design on it as part of the latest promotion of the complex, which is adjacent to Lippo Karawaci. (edt)
