'Kartu Halo' miscalculates

Since February this year I have had two mobile phones with Kartu Halo. So far I have not received an invoice for either of the telephones. Since I lost the mobile phones in Singapore, I applied for a new SIM Card and paid the first monthly bill (March 1997) at Kartu Halo's office at Jl. Panataran No. 9 with the receipt No. 9703654, No. MSISDN 0811-10-9909 amounting to Rp 122,862. This was the first invoice I received.

Earlier this month, while in Medan, North Sumatra, I received a message to contact Kartu Halo's accounts department regarding the bill. I explained that I paid in cash at their office at the end of April 1997 and thought that would be it. But on June 13, my telephone was cut off without any written notice and without checking with the accounts department. I suppose, the amount was not recorded properly.

As a result, I cannot be reached at the moment on my mobile phone. All callers receive a message which clearly indicates that I obviously have some money problems and did not pay the bill in time. As this is not the case, I expect a personal written apology from Kartu Halo. I also expect a very important telephone call from Jakarta.

My good reputation has probably been ruined in Jakarta now. This is only my story, but what about all the other SIM card holders? And all this because of disastrous accounting.
