Karang Tengah toll gate opened

JAKARTA: State-owned toll road operator PT Jasa Marga started
on Sunday the operation of the Karang Tengah toll gate, which is
located on the Jakarta-Tangerang toll road, in a bid to ease
traffic congestion at the Kebon Jeruk toll gate.

Head of Jasa Marga's Tangerang office Robert Sitorus said, as
quoted by Antara last week, that operation of the Rp 10 billion
toll gate was hoped to reduce the long lines that frequently
occurred at the Kebon Jeruk toll gate during rush hours. Often
the line was more than one kilometer long.

The new Karang Tengah gate, located six kilometers to the west
of the Kebon Jeruk gate, currently has six booths but later, in
February, it is scheduled to have a total of 12 booths in
operation. --JP
