Kalideres needs hospital

From Pelita

Residents living in the vicinity of Kalideres, Cengkareng, Kamal, Dadap, Pegadungan and Tegal Alur are really in need of a hospital. They are very inconvenienced by the lack of this health facility.

All this time, emergency cases in the neighborhood were directed to the "nearest" hospital, such as the Pelni-Petamburan Hospital, Husada Hospital in Kota, or Sumber Waras Hospital in Grogol, Harapan Kita Hospital in Slipi and the General Hospital in Tangerang.

One can just imagine how far a patient has to travel to get to one of these hospitals, not to mention the traffic jams, which extend the trip and worsens the patient's condition. As is known, the West Jakarta route leading to one of the "nearest" hospitals, is notorious for its traffic snarls.

The tragic fact is that in an emergency case, the patient would most likely lose his or her life on the way to the hospital. How many heart patients and road victims, needing urgent treatment, have met with this unlucky fate because of too much loss of blood. More tragic tales can be told of sick residents in Kalideres and surroundings who needed urgent treatment, but failed to reach a hospital in time.

Our desire for emergency and optimal health service is presently thwarted because of several obstacles such as distance, traffic delays, and so on. Based on these facts, it might be a good idea to construct a hospital in this area, either of the B, C or D type. A good part of the residents in this vicinity hope that their desire will be fulfilled. A hospital in this area would give them access to health services, especially if they might require emergency treatment.
