Kalibata Mall gets another hoax

JAKARTA: Less than a month after a bomb scare, Kalibata Mall, South Jakarta, received another bomb threat at around 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Police reports said on Thursday the telephone call was received by Fery Parlin, a security guard at the mall. The caller said he had planted a bomb inside Hero Supermarket in the basement level and that it would explode at midnight sharp.

The threat was immediately reported to the police.

The Jakarta Police bomb squad arrived at the scene minutes later and after combing the building, they declared the building safe at 11:10 p.m.

On July 28, an anonymous caller also threatened to blow up the mall, saying he had planted the bomb on the second floor.

Police discovered that the threat was a hoax. -- Antara
