Jupiter Blue to shake capital

JAKARTA (JP): The new aerobatics team of jet fighter pilots 'Jupiter Blue' is set to highlight the Air Force's 55th anniversary celebration on Monday.

Air Force spokesman First Marshall Imam Wahyudi said Jupiter Blue would dominate the sky of the capital for about 17 minutes during their aerobatic performance.

"That will be a special display since the team will fly with eight different planes," Imam said.

The Jupiter Blue pilots will fly five Hawk MK-53 planes, two F-16 Fighting Falcon planes, all from Madiun airbase in East Java, and one Hawk-100 from Pekanbaru airbase in Riau.

Imam said the team would prove that the Air Force was not affected by a spare parts embargo imposed by the United States. (jun)
