Junior booters qualify for London
JAKARTA (JP): The Indonesian junior soccer team beat host Malaysia 2-1 in the grand final of the Asia-Pacific Nike Premier Cup in Mindef Stadium, Kuala Lumpur yesterday.
Safitri, from PSMS Medan, put his team one up in the 25th minute, while Juanda scored the winner eight minutes before the final whistle.
The Indonesian Football Association press released did not mention the name of the Malaysian goal scorer.
Unbeaten Indonesia will represent Asia in the World Nike Premier Cup in London between May 22 and May 29. Twenty teams from Europe, and one team each from the continents of Asia, Africa, North and South America and Latin America will play in the event. (yan)
