JSX opens new info center

YOGYAKARTA (JP): The Jakarta Stock Exchange (JSX) launched an information center at the University of Duta Wacana here Friday.

"I hope this facility will give a better chance to society to take part in the development process, especially in the field of investment," the university's rector Aristarchus Sukarto said in a speech.

JSX's corporate secretary Saka Abadi said Duta Wacana's capital market information center, better known as the JSX corner, was the 18th it had launched since 1995. The centers were located in Jakarta, Medan, Bandung, Ujungpandang, Denpasar, Malang, Semarang and Yogyakarta.

Yogyakarta has five JSX corners. Four others are at AMP YKP Management College, Gadjah Mada University, the Widya Wiwaha School of Economy and the Islamic University of Indonesia.

According to Saka Abadi, the so-called stock corner would only provide information on capital market activities

"That way the community and academic society will have a place where they can learn about how to conduct good and fair trade," Saka told The Jakarta Post. (swa)
