JSX lost Rp 4.9b in 2000

JAKARTA (JP): The Jakarta Stock Exchange (JSX) said on Wednesday that it booked a net loss of Rp 4.9 billion (around US$439,000) last year, as against a net profit of Rp 16.4 billion the year before.

The JSX attributed the loss to operational costs soaring to Rp 103.35 billion from Rp 83.49 billion in 1999.

"The total loss for the year 2000 included carried forward losses from 1999 that amounted to Rp 9.9 billion," the exchange said in a statement.

It said it managed to raise last year's operation revenue to Rp 66.32 billion from Rp 59.76 billion a year earlier.

"The JSX's cash flow is solid enough considering the increase in operational revenue," the exchange said. (bkm)
