JSX gives money to bomb victims

JAKARTA (JP): The management of the Jakarta Stock Exchange (JSX) building shared out on Monday Rp 114 million (US$13,103) collected from the building's "community" to families of victims killed and wounded in the Sept. 13 bomb blast.

"This is a spontaneous act from the stock exchange community here," JSX president director Mas Achmad said.

Each family who lost a member in the blast received Rp 5.25 million.

Those who were seriously injured were given Rp 4.75 million, while those who suffered light injuries got Rp 1 million.

Forty-year old Mariani, who lost her husband in the explosion, said she was touched to accept the money.

"But nothing can replace the loss of a husband," Mariani said while holding back her tears.(jaw)
