The dangdut show was organized on Sunday to commemorate the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI Perjuangan)'s 30th anniversary. That the sultan, a possible Golkar presidential candidate in next year's elections, attended the celebration seemed to indicate the closeness of the two parties.
