Indonesian peacekeepers released

JAKARTA (JP): The six Indonesian peacekeepers in the custody of the Bosnian Serb forces since April 14 were released at midnight on Tuesday, the Armed Forces (ABRI) headquarters announced yesterday.

The ABRI spokesman said the Indonesian military observers were released together with 47 military observers from other countries.

"The six Indonesian peacekeepers have been granted freedom of movement in accordance with the rights of United Nations personnel," the spokesman added.

He said all military observers in Bosnia-Herzegovina were expected to resume their UN peacekeeping mission on Wednesday. (vin)
