Officer shoots three, kills himself

INDONESIA: A police officer in the Central Java town of
Salatiga shot three people, reportedly out of jealousy, before
finally killing himself on Saturday.

Chief Brig. Alex Suwondo, 47, a widower, shot the three people
identified as Maria Tuti Maryaningsih, 35, Supriyanto, 34, and
Maria's husband, Agus Eko Supriyanto, 36. The first two died of
gunshot wounds to their heads.

The incident took place at a cafe and karaoke house in
Argomulyo district.

Reports said that Maria and Alex were lovers before their
respective marriages, while Alex's wife had an affair with Eko in
the past.

Salatiga Police chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Wanto Sumardi said Alex
shot Maria and Eko shortly after he found the couple together in
the cafe. Another visitor, Supriyanto, tried to stop the fight
but was shot dead.

Alex then shot himself in the head.

Eko was rushed to Elizabeth Hospital in the neighboring town
