Quake rocks Manokwari

MANOKWARI: An earthquake measuring 5 on the Richter scale
rocked Manokwari, West Irian Jaya, at about 9 p.m. on Sunday.
Residents rushed out of their houses for safety. The quake
reminded locals of a similar tremor in the city in 2001 which
killed scores of people and devastated two districts.

Authorities were still trying to locate the epicenter of the
quake and determine the material loss it had caused -- Antara
