Just when you thought that Mr. Reeves was getting a little bit selective about his choice of roles, he starred in this highly derivative movie.

This time, he stars as gambling-addict Connor O'Neil who agrees to coach little boys from a housing project in a Chicago to play baseball in order to get a loan from a friend.

As expected, first days of coaching are hell for O'Neil as the boys fight and curse each other.

However, the boys then predictably grow their respect and love for their coach.

Oh, O'Neil falls for the kids schoolteacher, too.

Some touching moments can not disguise this formulaic movie but it is still O.K. for family entertainment. **1/2
