Joko goes to the top

JAKARTA (JP): Joko Supriyanto, fresh from winning the Indonesia Open badminton championships in Medan, is now ranked number one in the world by the International Badminton Federation.

Olympic silver medalist Dong Jiong of China is relegated to second position while Atlanta gold medalist Poul Erik Hoyer Larsen of Denmark remains in the third position.

In the women's ranking, Susi Susanti, who also won in Medan, remains at the top with Bang Soo-hyun of South Korea and China's Ye Zhaoying trailing second and third. (arf)
