Job seekers invited to Japan
PALANGKA RAYA, Central Kalimantan: The local manpower office is encouraging job seekers to take part in selection tests for apprenticeships in Japan, an official said on Tuesday.
The Central Kalimantan deputy manpower office head Kiwok D. Rampay said the program took place every year, and was part of the effort to reduce unemployment in the province.
Those needed for the program were graduates in all disciplines from senior high schools and universities, Kiwok added.
"The participants who pass the selection tests will be trained to work, so their respective educational disciplines will not affect their participation in the program," he said.
He said the recruitment process started two months ago and would come to an end in August 2004.
Kiwok said the unemployment rate in Central Kalimantan stood at 35,239 in 2003. -- Antara
