MEDAN, North Sumatra: The Medan District Court began yesterday
the trial of a 33-year-old woman accused of pouring acid on her
boyfriend, Antara reported.

Prosecutor DE Pasaribu said that the woman, identified only as
Qnu, caused severe burn injuries to 35-year-old Karuniadas.

Pasaribu said Qnu had an argument with the victim in January,
during which she accused the boyfriend, with whom she had been
living together for some time, of breaking his promises. It was
then that the woman threw acid on Karuniadas. (swe)
