JIFFest films

Thank you for publishing an article on the Jakarta
International Film Festival (Jiffest) in the Sunday edition of
The Jakarta Post (Oct. 28, 2001, JIFFest: A feast for movie
enthusiasts). After reading the article, we feel, however, that
Jiffest buffs might be deterred from going to see the films as
one could get the impression that the tickets have already been
sold out.

Film tickets can actually be purchased at the respective
theater one hour before the film is shown. If JIFFest fans are
worried that the box office will run out, they can buy tickets
for the following day at the Haji Usmar Ismail Film Center in
Kuningan. Also, we will be showing some films free of charge but
viewers will still need tickets.

This year, we are presenting about 110 films and some will be
shown more than once so that film viewers will still have ample
opportunity to see them.
