Jeneponto to recruit 800 teachers

MAKASSAR, South Sulawesi: The Jeneponto education office said on Monday that the regency was in a dire need of 800 teachers to be posted in elementary and junior high schools.

Masri, head of Jeneponto elementary and secondary education division, was quoted by Antara as saying that his office would start recruiting temporary teachers next week to meet the demand.

He did not, however, reveal the budget that the local administration had allocated for the teachers nor did he set any timetable for the recruitment, saying only that his office would recruit 500 temporary teachers for elementary schools and 300 as temporary high school teachers. -- Antara
