Jealous husband throws acid on wife

DEMAK, Central Java: Police arrested on Thursday a man who
allegedly doused his 19-year-old wife with acid.

Demak Supt. R.M.L. Tampubolon said on Friday that Koi Suh, 20,
was jealous of his beautiful wife, Sumarti, as she was sometimes
seen flirting with other men.

Tampubolon said Sumarti was being treated at the local
hospital for serious burns to her face, chest and other parts of
her body.

He also said Koi Suh, a fisherman, was nearly lynched by his
angry neighbors but was saved by the police. (har)
