JDI to tout tourist sites
JAKARTA (JP): PT Jaring Data Interaktif (JDI), the Jakarta Stock Exchange and the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture signed on Friday a memorandum of understanding on promoting Indonesia's tourism industry.
JDI and the stock exchange, who together run the financial information channel Quick Financial Channel, will help promote tourism by including information on tourist attractions and sites on their real-time news broadcasts.
"Quick Financial Channel will provide on-line tourist reservations and reports on the country's interesting sightseeing spots," JDI president Suhardi Gunawan said.
Quick Financial Channel currently features stock price movements, JSX announcements and other breaking news, foreign exchange and world stock market indexes.
The service is provided on subscription basis through a local cable provider to homes, offices and hotels. (udi)
