Jaya Suprana to bring peace in recital

Bandung, the capital of West Java province, will have the honor of hosting the second in a series of Jaya Suprana's solo piano recitals, For You My Indonesia -- Peace for All, before touring the country.
The first in the series of these recitals was successfully held in the auditorium of the vice president's palace in Jakarta.
For the Bandung's performance, organized in cooperation with the French Cultural Center (CCF) in Bandung, Jaya Suprana will present a rich repertoire, including the works of the BeeGees, Nelson, Anka, Mang Koko, Ismail Marzuki and Jaya Suprana himself.
This event will also be highlighted by an additional multimedia presentation, Indonesia Pusaka, where the country's leading figures, such as President Megawati Soekarnoputri and former president Abdurrahman Wahid, as well as ordinary people from all walks of life, will sing songs together by Ismail Marzuki.
According to Jaya Suprana, through the performances, he expected to encourage the public's appreciation of art.
Through these recitals, the public will find that Jaya Suprana is not only a traditional herbal medicine company owner but also an extraordinary pianist. For each city visited, the recital will be specifically designed.
The organizers, Estetik PR and Estetik Communications, hope that with this series of recitals Indonesian audiences will have a better appreciation of music in particular, and art and culture in general.
Jaya Suprana learned music at Musikhochschule Muenster and Folkwanghochsule Essen, West Germany, between 1967 and 1976. He then learned more from respected figures and has earned kudos and citations from international music critics for his rich performances and unique expressiveness.
Apart from local performances, he has performed in the U.S., Germany, Japan, Holland, Hungary, Spain, Algiers, Nigeria, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Singapore, Hong Kong and New Zealand.
