Java to face Bali in cricket c'ship

JAKARTA: The Java team will host the Bali team in the first
match of the National Cricket Championships at the Ceylon Cricket
Ground in Cibubur, East Jakarta, here on Sunday.

The Indonesian Cricket Foundation (ICF) said in a press
statement on Friday that the championship, the second match of
which will be hosted by Bali on March 20, would play a vital role
in the formation of the national team.

"This championship not only ensures healthy competition for
places on the team but also provides players with a higher
standard of cricket," ICF chairman MK Suresh said.

Speaking about the next program by the national team, Suresh
said Australia had invited Indonesia to a tournament next year.
