Japanese grant for student dorm
UJUNGPANDANG, South Sulawesi: The Japanese government has agreed to give an Rp 80 million ($33,300) grant to supplement a project to build a dormitory for East Timorese students in Ujungpandang, Antara reported yesterday.
A note on the grant was signed by Japanese consul general Takaichi Yoneda and Muhammad Juari, the leader of East Timor's Al-Anshar Foundation in Ujungpandang, at the consulate.
Since its foundation in 1993, Al Anshar has helped arrange accommodation for dozens of East Timorese students.
They were initially put up at a rented house in Maros area.
The new dorm will be built at Biringkanaya district. (10)
