Japan to send medical experts to RI

INDONESIA: Japan is sending six experts to support the Indonesian government's efforts to contain avian influenza, the Japanese Embassy in Jakarta said in a statement on Friday.

"The six experts in the field of surveillance, laboratory diagnosis and medical treatment will arrive in Indonesia on Nov. 13," said the statement, which was sent to The Jakarta Post.

The experts would also bring the required medical equipment, including a bedside monitor, personal protective equipment, laboratory equipment, an ultra-low temperature freezer and a bio hazard cabinet.

Japan had earlier sent 3 experts in laboratory diagnosis on Oct 26. -- JP
