Japan provides $14.29m grant
The Japanese government signed here on Thursday a grant facility for Indonesia worth 1.856 billion yen (US$14.29 million) to help fund several government projects.
The agreement was signed by the charge d'affaires of the Japanese Embassy in Jakarta, Hideaki Domichi, and Indonesian foreign ministry's Director General for Asia Pacific and Africa Makarim Wibisono.
According to a press statement issued by the embassy, some $4.15 million of the grant would be used to improve facilities at the news division of the state-owned TV station Televisi Republic Indonesia (TVRI).
Some $900.000 would be used to support the implementation of the fiscal decentralization program, while the remaining $9.24 million would be used for food production programs.-- JP
