Japan continues export drive
TOKYO: While Japan's domestic market remains flat, the country's carmakers are continuing to push exports, much to the anger of European and U.S. carmakers.
According to U.S. publication Automotive News, Japanese vehicle exports for July marked the 14th consecutive monthly gain.
The export figure of 429,993 was 32 percent higher than the same month last year, with the biggest rise of 50 percent in vehicles headed for Europe.
Europe accounts for 28 percent of total shipments while the U.S. market, which took 22 percent more cars in July, accounts for 29.3 percent of the total.
