Jamsostek

From Merdeka

I really do not understand the use of funds from the state- owned workers' insurance company (Jamsostek) just to say "thank you" to legislators in compensation for their work in finishing a labor bill and passing it into law.

Has the manpower ministry no other funds than the Jamsostek one to express their appreciation to the legislators? The staggering amount of Rp 3.1 billion! Our common sense hardly finds this acceptable because the funds have been collected little by little from wages. Such funds should be returned to the workers, to make them happy when they are in need of money.

I never stop wondering how easily our government officials spend funds amounting to billions of rupiah. Are they used to spending money from funds for their own interest and not in the interest of workers?

I think spending from the Jamsostek fund should only be for labor welfare.
