James Ingram to perform in Jakarta

JAKARTA: Grammy award winner James Ingram will help Jakartans bring in the New Year at a gala dinner held at Hotel Mulia Senayan, Central Jakarta.

The R&B singer -- who is famous for the hits Just Once, I don't have the heart and Somewhere out there -- will lead the countdown to the New Year. Before Ingram takes to the stage, local comedy group Project Pop, The Naturals Band and Audiensi Band will entertain audiences.

Ratna Sjamsiar Idris, the public relations manager of Hotel Mulia, said on Monday that 90 percent of the tickets -- which are selling between Rp 2 million and Rp 3.5 million each -- have been sold.

"All the VVIP and VIP tickets are sold out. Only the cheapest ones are left," she said. -- JP
