Jakartans set for treat from Introdans
JAKARTA (JP): Jakartans will have the opportunity to enjoy three performances of the famous Dutch ballet company Introdans Ensemble for Youths this Friday and Saturday.
The performances will take place at Erasmus Huis, Jl. Rasuna Said Kav. S-3, South Jakarta, on Friday at 7:30 p.m. and on Saturday at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
This time, it's not Dutch treat. It's free admission.
Introdans Ensemble for Youth is an offshoot of the main company, Introdans. The latter performed at Gedung Kesenian, Jakarta, in 1996.
Since 1971, Introdans has been creating a contemporary ballet repertoire and professional dance for both adults and youths, which has been widely acclaimed for its unique combination.
Introdans Ensemble for Youth was established in 1989 with Roel Voorinthold as director. He has been credited as the man who gave new pulse to youth dancing because under his leadership, renowned choreographers cooperated with Introdans.
Repertoire by, among others, Jiri Kylian, Hans van Manen and Nils Christe gave youth dancing an adult approach.
Introdans Ensemble for Youth recently toured Moscow, Morocco, Cuba, Singapore, Latin America, Finland and France.
The dancers are Danielle Clarijs, Carola van Rijn, Mendy Kunz, Nathalie Schulte, Tamara Beudeker, Jan Kohler, Sander Zijlstra, Raoul Dumas and Marck Wolters.
The choreographers are Jiri Kylian, Patrick Delcroix and Hans van Manen.(pan)
