Jakartans set for treat from Introdans

JAKARTA (JP): Jakartans will have the opportunity to enjoy
three performances of the famous Dutch ballet company Introdans
Ensemble for Youths this Friday and Saturday.

The performances will take place at Erasmus Huis, Jl. Rasuna
Said Kav. S-3, South Jakarta, on Friday at 7:30 p.m. and on
Saturday at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

This time, it's not Dutch treat. It's free admission.

Introdans Ensemble for Youth is an offshoot of the main
company, Introdans. The latter performed at Gedung Kesenian,
Jakarta, in 1996.

Since 1971, Introdans has been creating a contemporary ballet
repertoire and professional dance for both adults and youths,
which has been widely acclaimed for its unique combination.

Introdans Ensemble for Youth was established in 1989 with Roel
Voorinthold as director. He has been credited as the man who gave
new pulse to youth dancing because under his leadership, renowned
choreographers cooperated with Introdans.

Repertoire by, among others, Jiri Kylian, Hans van Manen and
Nils Christe gave youth dancing an adult approach.

Introdans Ensemble for Youth recently toured Moscow, Morocco,
Cuba, Singapore, Latin America, Finland and France.

The dancers are Danielle Clarijs, Carola van Rijn, Mendy Kunz,
Nathalie Schulte, Tamara Beudeker, Jan Kohler, Sander Zijlstra,
Raoul Dumas and Marck Wolters.

The choreographers are Jiri Kylian, Patrick Delcroix and Hans
van Manen.(pan)
