Jakarta to host basketball tourney

JAKARTA: The Jakarta administration will hold a sister city
basketball tournament against four teams from Asian capitals from
June 12-18.

As well as the hosts, teams from Manila, Bangkok, Seoul and
Beijing are scheduled to compete.

The capital will be represented by Palazzo Jakarta Selection
and Palazzo Jakarta Junior in the tournament, part of the
campaign to show the capital as an attractive tourist
destination.

"This is a friendly competition so it doesn't offer prize
money," city sports agency head Taufik Yudi Mulyanto told a news
conference on Wednesday.

The tournament will be held at Britama Arena, Kelapa Gading,
North Jakarta, with the opening ceremony starting on Sunday at
11:30 a.m. -- JP
