Jakarta High Court gets new chief

JAKARTA (JP): Chief Justice Sarwata installed I. Gde Sudharta as head of Jakarta High Court on Monday, replacing Slamet Riyanto.

The installation ceremony was held at the City Hall.

Sarwata said the replacement was aimed at improving the performance of the court.

He called on the new high court chief to remain objective in his judgment and not declare suspects to be guilty with too much ease.

"To meet the people's desire for objective behavior, let's not jump to blame others. We have to continually be introspective," he said in his speech. (ivy)
