Jakarta has new vice governor
JAKARTA (JP): Minister of Home Affairs R. Hartono installed Budihardjo Soekmadi as the new deputy governor for development affairs Tuesday.
Budihardjo, who retains his position as head of the city's Development Planning Board (Bappeda) which he has held since 1995, replaced Tb. M. Rais.
Born in Cilacap, Central Java, on May 22, 1943, Budihardjo has been with the city administration for 24 years.
He graduated from School of Civil Engineering of Gadjah Mada University, Yogyakarta, in 1967. (ind)
