Jakarta garrison has new chief

JAKARTA (JP): Former commander of the Jakarta Garrison, Brig. Gen. T.B. Hasanuddin, officially transferred his duties to Col. Harry Pisand in a ceremony on Thursday.

Harry, former intelligence unit chief of the Army's Special Force (Kopassus), replaced Hasanuddin after he was appointed as the presidential military secretary.

The ceremony, which was held at the garrison headquarters in Gambir, Central Jakarta, was cut short so that the officers could go to the residence of former chief of the Army's Strategic Reserves Command (Kostrad), Lt. Gen. Agus Wirahadikusumah, who passed away on Thursday morning. (emf)
