JAKARTA: DHL, the world's leading express and logistics company, said Wednesday that it was collaborating with the ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN-BAC) in an initiative to help ASEAN shape economic policies to further regional trade.

Both will seek the inputs of the private sector and use the inputs to help ASEAN government leaders shape the policies.

As part of the initiative, a high-level delegation of senior executives from DHL's Asia-Pacific management board will be sharing their collective insights and experiences on regional trade issues at the inaugural ASEAN Business & Investment Summit in Bali next month, the company said in a statement.

During the summit, John Mullen, the company's Asia-Pacific COO, is expected to speak about logistics in ASEAN and how these relate to the development of intra-regional and extra-regional trade, the statement said. -- JP
