Jakarta begins voter education program

JAKARTA: The Jakarta General Elections Commission (KPUD Jakarta)
began distributing leaflets to residents on Monday as part of its
voter education program ahead of the July 5 presidential
election.

Commission member Juri Ardiantoro said the leaflets would be
distributed daily in different areas of the city until July 4,
one day before the election.

The program began on Monday when a number of singers and
actresses, including Vivie Effendi, Yayuk Soeseno and Novia
Ardhana, distributed leaflets to motorists at the Hotel Indonesia
traffic circle. -- JP
