Jak Jazz 1994

Being a jazz fan, I am pleased that there will be another Jak
Jazz this year. I have been to two previous events and found them
both to be enjoyable and entertaining. I would however like to
make one comment about the last Jak Jazz that was held in 1993 at
Senayan, the same venue as planned for the forthcoming event. The
close proximity of the stages and the overlapping of the time
schedules often resulted in the audience hearing music from two
sources concurrently.

Some musicians I spoke to also commented that they had found
this rather disturbing, particularly when some of the bands were
playing rather soft and acoustic music to a background of what,
to my mind, was heavy rock rather than jazz. I hope that the
organizers will have taken note of comments made last time and I
look forward to enjoying some great music.
