Jail sought for pamphleteer
BANDUNG: The government prosecution office is calling for a four-year jail term for a man alleged to have insulted President Soeharto through pamphlets he produced and distributed.
The prosecution said that Crd, alias Coki, wrote some of the articles in the pamphlets, the contents of which denigrated the Head of State.
The pamphlets were circulated between April and August last year, and some were even sent to military offices and government agencies in Bandung and Jakarta, Himawan Kaswara, the chief prosecutor, told the court.
Coki and his lawyers Effendi Saman and Abdurrachman of the Nusantara Legal Aid Institute are scheduled to present their closing arguments on July 17. (emb)
