Jack thief gets four months

BOGOR (JP): An 18-year-old man was sentenced yesterday in Bogor District Court to four months in jail for stealing a car jack from the Ciparigi workshop on Jl. Raya Bogor.

Prosecutor Titien had demanded that Jaenudin, alias Enan Aman, serve a six-month sentence for the offense on Oct. 19 last year.

The defendant had robbed the workshop at 11 p.m. with the help of two accomplices who are still at large, presiding judge Suhartini said.

Titien told the court: "The defendant and one of his friends broke into the workshop, while the other man stood guard outside."

Neighbors witnessed the break-in and alerted the workshop owner, Antonius, by telephone about the incident, Titien said.

Antonius foiled the robbery when he arrived at the workshop but he only managed to catch Jaenudin. (24/hhr)
