Iwan, Slank to rock Purwokerto

PURWOKERTO, Central Java: As part of the "United in Peace" nationwide concert tour, musician Iwan Fals and rock group Slank will together rock Purwokerto on Tuesday.

It will be the 16th out of a scheduled 27 concerts in 27 cities nationwide. The concert tour started on March 12.

Sponsored by cigarette maker PT HM Sampoerna, the concerts are aimed at raising money for the victims of the tsunami in Aceh, said Herry Purnomo, one of the members of the concert organizing committee.

He said that so far the concerts in 15 cities had raised Rp 1.57 billion (US$174,444). -- JP
