Iverson scores 37 points for 76ers

Allen Iverson shook off an ankle injury to score 37 points and Keith Van Horn had 21 points and nine rebounds to lead the Philadelphia 76ers to a 99-94 win over the San Antonio Spurs in NBA action on Thursday.

Philadelphia (5-3) won its fifth straight home game as Iverson sank the go-ahead basket in the final minute after returning to the game after suffering the injury with eight minutes to play in the fourth quarter.

Iverson left the game briefly but had his ankle taped and returned two minutes later.

Brian Skinner added 13 points and 11 rebounds for the winners, while Aaron McKie had 12 points and nine rebounds.

Tim Duncan had 29 points and 16 rebounds for San Antonio (5- 4), but that wasn't enough to stop the Spurs from losing their third straight game after having won three in a row. Stephen Jackson added 15 points for San Antonio.

The 76ers have now won two of their past three games over the Spurs after losing 17 of the previous 19 games between the two teams.

In Washington, Jerry Stackhouse had 25 points and Michael Jordan added 19 to lead the Wizards past the Utah Jazz 105-102.

Stackhouse went 14-for-14 from the free throw line and added seven rebounds and six assists for the Wizards (5-4).

Jordan's points included back-to-back layups late in the fourth quarter that put Washington ahead for good.

Karl Malone had 26 points to lead Utah (3-6), while John Stockton added 17 points and 11 assists before he fouled out in the final minute.

In Los Angeles, Tracy McGrady scored 35 points to lead the Orlando Magic past the Clippers 101-80.

Grant Hill added 17 points and nine rebounds for the Magic, who improved to 6-3 with the win. Pat Garrity added 14 points for Orlando.

Michael Olowokandi and Corey Maggette both had 16 points for the Clippers, while Elton brand had 10 points and pulled down 12 rebounds for Los Angeles.
